My Story

Here is my story………….

On May 16th, 2023, I was flying from Richmond, Va to Dallas, Texas via Orlando, Fl. Twenty minutes into the flight, the “fasten seatbelt” light was turned off and I went to the bathroom at the rear of the plane. As I approached the toilet, a bit a turbulence occurred and I lost my footing, hitting my head against the clip which secures the items used by the crew. I was knocked out cold, and when I awoke perhaps 10 minutes later, I was paralyzed and drowning in a pool of blood. A good Samaritan found me and provided as much help as possible. The flight continued for another 1.5 hours, rather than divert to another closer airport.

After landing, I was transported to a Level 1 trauma center, where a surgery was eventually performed which restored my use of my limbs again. Thanks to modern science, the amazing Doctors, nurse, Staff and soo many others, I am now clawing my way back.

After weeks in the hospital, I was placed on a plane home and began extensive rehabilitation

So…..rather than dwell on the past, I’ve decided to share my journey to become the FITTEST MAN ALIVE….over 60! In October of 2023, I was Certified as a personal trainer (NASM-CPT) and began taking on private clients who felt my path was one they wanted to follow

Who’s coming with me?

Relearning how to walk, use my arms, the tremendous pain, trying to feed yourself when moving is difficult. The neck and leg braces. The heart monitor. Everything in your life tells you to give up. No help except for two very wonderful people who came to help. Thanks, LaRoyce and Erica. You guys are angels!!

But this isn’t a pity party! It’s about being the best you can be despite the challenges. Since 2008, I’ve worked out 5-6 days per week consistently, along with a decent nutritional program. As a result, I was in excellent condition, which is one of the key elements of regaining the use of my arms and legs. I implore everyone to lead healthy lives, because you never know when a catastrophic event will occur.

So, I have developed a program, fitness and nutritional, which I use and has proven successful in the athletes we train and sponsor.
